Crowns and Cupcakes

There is something so inherently ethereal about flower crowns… And while I have always had a deep love for them, I hadn’t ever found an opportunity to make one until I joined a class specifically for that purpose. And just in case any of you share the interest in floral crowns, I’ve linked a few similar items at the bottom of this post.

While we worked we were offered these delicious looking cupcakes!

The work tables were covered in a vast array of flowers, so we were free to pick and choose what ever we were drawn to. As always, I noticed purple first!

Our teacher was both enthusiastic and helpful and I think we all left the class feeling satisfied with what we’d created. πŸ™‚

Today one of my best friends and I attended a tea party thrown by our local library. We were absolutely blown away by the beautiful decor and had a great time!

The Poetry of Seasons

Processed with VSCO with a8 preset

Every time the weather begins to change I can’t help but feel a sense of promise within my soul. The process of the changing seasons is comforting to me and I always find myself looking forward to the next season that is to arrive. The ebb and flow of natural change does feel a bit like poetry to me.

I’ve yet to make any concrete summer plans apart from scribbling a few locations that I would love to go to. Hopefully I will become a bit more organized soon so that I can properly plan an adventure with my family. Do any of you have any summer plans?

“A portrait of my son, once a week every week”

I have really been loving the longer days that come with June and having light outside until later in the evening. It makes for such fun outdoor adventures during the day and longer playtime for kids who need to get extra energy out. (;

Currently, James is loving finding fallen pears and throwing them to his puppies. He gathers them together and calls his puppies by name to “come here” for “treats”. Oh, my heart.

“A portrait of my son, once a week every week”

I am a day late in posting this week simply because, well,Β life happens and I decided to take on a full semester of work for the first half of my summer. At some point I’d like to write a bit about how I stay organized being a stay-at-home-mom and full time student, but it is somethingΒ that I’ll have to schedule that in my next semester of school which will hopefully be less intense.

Some days, it is really hard to manage everything and not feel like I am spread too thin in areas that I feel I’m needed but I am doing it for James, for my family, and for myself. And through the grace of God I believe that I will finish my Bachelor’s Degree.
