There is something so inherently ethereal about flower crowns… And while I have always had a deep love for them, I hadn’t ever found an opportunity to make one until I joined a class specifically for that purpose. And just in case any of you share the interest in floral crowns, I’ve linked a few similar items at the bottom of this post.
While we worked we were offered these delicious looking cupcakes!
The work tables were covered in a vast array of flowers, so we were free to pick and choose what ever we were drawn to. As always, I noticed purple first!
Our teacher was both enthusiastic and helpful and I think we all left the class feeling satisfied with what we’d created. 🙂

One of my favorite places in Dallas is the Arboretum. The landscape, flowers, and natural beauty are all swoon worthy. If you followed me back in 2014, you might remember that the Arboretum was a close wedding venue contender for us!
And my fascination with the place has grown exponentially since then. We may not have gotten married here, but last October this is where I had my bachelorette party. 🙂 And so it was that on a hot day in July (real feel reaching 106 degrees) we decided to return.
True love knows no bounds!
While it was extremely hot, my husband managed to capture some sweet photos of me with our son.
Naturally, I had to do the same. 🙂
And before we left we had to snap a photo of all three of us!
What outdoor activities have you all been doing this summer?
Today one of my best friends and I attended a tea party thrown by our local library. We were absolutely blown away by the beautiful decor and had a great time!
We fell in love with these beautiful floral hoops that hung from the trees!
Lots of love.
This sweet woman was kind enough to let me take a picture of her magnificent dress. 🙂
Below is the decor that adorned our table!
I had such a great time attending this tea party and believe it was my favorite event of the summer so far! I can’t wait to see what the rest of the this season holds in store for all of us.
Recently I made the decision to buy my son a compass so that he could act as the navigator for our adventures. I wasn’t sure if he would love it for five minutes then find another thing to play with or genuinely be interested in using it but I took my chances. As it turns out, he loves using it to guide us wherever we go!
With that in mind, we set out for a nearby park in which we went on a search for water and ducks.
He figured out how it worked quite quickly. 😉
I feel certain that our compass adventures are just beginning, and that my tiny navigator is developing a sincere reverence for the world around him.
Some of mine and my husband’s close friends recently found out they were going to have a baby, and since then there has been an awful lot of debate over whether they were expecting a boy or girl. A few days ago, Carissa and Jacob finally found out what they are having 🙂
See the color peeking through? 🙂
I don’t think anyone was more surprised than the mom in this reveal! And it was so exciting to be part of the fun 🙂
